The next stop on the PGA Tour is McKinney, Texas, for the 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

TPC Craig Ranch is a 7,440 yard par 71 with Bentgrass greens. There is a creek that runs through the property and comes into play on 13 holes.
The 17th hole has been revamped and now boasts bleachers behind the green and 41 hospitality units. The goal is a stadium vibe similar to the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale. With 6,000 spectators at the 17th, it adds an interesting dynamic.
The bulk of the yardage from this course comes from the par fours. Five of the ten par fours are 450-500 yards with one under 350 yards and another one over 500 yards.
Three of the four par threes are over 200 yards. The three par fives are the three easiest holes on the course and range from 550-600 yards.
Bombers have a slight advantage off the tee with driving distance being over tour average at 295 yards. Fairways are hit at a 61% clip which is basically right at tour average.
Long irons are a must at the Byron Nelson with almost 36% of all approach shots coming from over 200 yards. Despite the lengthy approach shots, hitting greens isn’t all that difficult. Greens in regulation percentage comes in higher than tour average at 71 percent.
Missing greens isn’t the end of the world with scrambling being easier at TPC Craig Ranch but it could hinder some needed scoring opportunities. There are bunkers surrounding many of the greens and 83 bunkers in total scattered about the course. Over the last three years, the golfers who have finished in the top 5 have more than doubled the field in sand saves.
The field at the Byron Nelson consists of 156 golfers with the Top 65 and ties making the cut after 36 holes to play the weekend.
