My Core Four
Justin Thomas $10,600
DK Ownership 20%
Great form coming in outside of a hiccup at the Genesis. Thomas has finished no worse than 12th this year. He finished 3rd at the AMEX, 6th at Pebble, 12th at the Waste Management and 12th last week at API.
Thomas has played well at the PLAYERS winning in 2021 and also came 3rd in 2016. He’s never missed a cut here in eight appearances at Sawgrass and has gained strokes tee to green in all but one appearance. He’s averaged 5.2 strokes tee to green over his eight years playing Sawgrass.
Statistically he doesn’t jump off the page in any specific metric other than being 3rd in par four scoring over the last 24 rounds. He has been consistent in every facet of his game though so far this year.
Tony Finau $8,500
DK Ownership 10%
Finau has not played well at the PLAYERS over the years. He’s missed the cut in four if seven years. His best finish was last year when he finished 19th mainly due to some good iron play. He also rode a hot putter in 2019 to a 22nd place gaining 5.4 strokes on the greens.
Finau hasn’t been incredible but has played well so far this year. He’s made the cut in all six of his tournaments. He has four top 25 finishes including a 6th at the Farmers, a 19th at the Genesis and 13th in Mexico.
Over the last 24 rounds, Finau is 2nd in opportunities gained, 3rd on approach, 4th in strokes gained tee to green, 3rd from 200+ yards and 5th in par five scoring.
Corey Conners $8,300
DK Ownership 15%
Conners finished 18th last week gaining six strokes on approach. He lost .2 strokes off the tee which was his first time losing strokes off the tee since the Masters last year.
His best finish at the PLAYERS was a 7th place in 2021. He gained 3.5 strokes putting that year and tied for the low round shooting 66 on Sunday.
Over the last 24 rounds he’s 4th in strokes gained approach, 5th from 200+ yards and 17th in fairways gained.
Doug Ghim $6,800
DK Ownership 16%
Ghim’s last four finishes are 16th at the Cognizant, 8th in Mexico, 12th at the Waste Management and 13th at the Farmers. He’s gained strokes off the tee and on approach in all four tournaments and lost .1 strokes putting in Mexico. Otherwise he’s gained on the greens in the other three tournaments including 4.7 strokes at the Cognizant.
Ghim missed the cut at the PLAYERS last year but came 6th here in 2022 and 29th in 2021.
Over the last 24 rounds he’s 11th in fairways gained, 18th on approach, 8th from 150-175 yards and 2nd in par five scoring.

Hideki Matsuyama $9,800
I realize the history at the PLAYERS and how well he’s been playing. Because of that I have bet him to win with a top 7 each way. However there are still injury concerns. He’s been playing a lot of golf recently and we saw him fade on Sunday at API. His elevated price tag with an elevated ownership is enough for me to target the guys around him.
